Amy is an incredibly creative wedding and event designer, part of the dream team behind Nineteen Eighty Five in Jhb, so I knew straight away this would be a dream wedding to co-ordinate and being on board was a no brainer! Amy and Gray are such an incredible couple, they radiate light and energy when they enter the room, and it was pure joy to be their wedding planner. Their large circle of close friends and tight knit families who gcame together to celebrate with them is testimony to this.
The beautiful ceremony sight was constructed atop a hill overlooking the breathtaking Elgin valley, soft white drapes creating shade for the 300 guests, completed by a beautiful altar display of lush floral and floating pears and apples, that are so native to this beautiful valley and Oak Valley farm. The golden hour was spent sipping on champagne, and enjoying the beautiful farm offerings from Oak Valley, displayed on a rustic feast table.
Building a glass marquee for 300 guests on Amy’s family farm in Elgin was a week-long logistical giant for Agape Wedding and Event Design, and so much fun! With an incredible team, we built a gorgeous glass marquee, adorned with 2 bespoke, oversized drape chandeliers by Something Different, a custom created ice-cream cart and dessert display, contemporary white tables and chairs, perfectly finished off with floral tablescapes by the super talented team from Nineteen Eighty Five. No detail was overlooked, featuring gold geometric elements, gold foiled stationery designed by Seven Swans, contemporary lounge pockets from Something Different, a floral feature hand made by floral genius Isabel suspended over a custom check dance floor, and gold cutlery to complete each setting.
DJ Sox didn’t let the crowd off the hook until early hours of the morning! What a party!
